Erect shrub, 0.3-1 m high. Fl. white, Jul to Nov. Sandy soils & gravel. Sandplains, breakaways, granite rocks.
Scientific Description
Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, glabrous. Leaves alternate, simple, 2-3 mm long, 0.5-0.8 mm wide, terete, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales or glabrous, with stellate (star shaped) hairs; stipular excrescences absent. Flowers terminal. solitary; pedicels 1-1.5 mm long; calyx present, 2.5-3.5 mm long, verrucose (warty), covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped); corolla white or cream, petals five, imbricate (overlapping), free, hairy on the surfaces; stamens twice as many as petals, 2.5-4 mm long, smooth, hairy; anthers 0.7-1 mm long, with an appendage; style 4-5.5 mm long, hairy. Flowers in July, August, September, October and November. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Yalgoo, Avon Wheatbelt and Mallee IBRA region(s).
