Slender, erect shrub, 0.1-0.6 m high. Fl. blue/blue-pink, Aug to Oct or Jan. Sand, sandy gravel. Rocky quartzite hills, swampy places.

Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped). Leaves alternate, simple, 5-10 mm long, 0.4-0.5 mm wide, flat, the margins revolute, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, with stellate (star shaped) hairs. Flowers in terminal, loose clusters (cymes or panicles); calyx present, 2.5-3 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, covered in hairs or scales, the hairs stellate (star-shaped); corolla pink or blue, petals five, 5-5.5 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), free, glabrous; stamens twice as many as petals, 2-3 mm long, smooth, hairy; anthers 0.4-0.5 mm long, with an appendage. Flowers in January, August, September and October. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Jarrah Forest, Esperance and Swan Coastal Plain IBRA region(s).
