Scientific Description

Shrub, spines absent; branchlets smooth, without distinct raised glands, +/- cylindrical in cross-section, glabrous. Leaves opposite, simple, 6-15 mm long, 0.4-1 mm wide, flat, the margins revolute, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; stipular excrescences present. Flowers; pedicels 2-4.5 mm long; calyx present, 2-2.5 mm long, smooth, without distinct raised glands, glabrous; corolla red or pink, petals five, 6-8.5 mm long, imbricate (overlapping), free, glabrous; stamens twice as many as petals, 3.5-5 mm long, smooth, ciliate (with a marginal fringe of hairs); anthers 1-1.1 mm long, with an appendage; style 4-5 mm long, glabrous. Flowers in July, August, September and October. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Swan Coastal Plain and Geraldton IBRA region(s).
