Erect, much-branched shrub, 0.3-0.6(-1) m high. Fl. purple-pink-blue, May or Jul to Dec or Jan to Feb. Lateritic sand & gravel. Hills, sandplains.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 0.5-1 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 10-55 mm long, 2-10 mm wide, hairy or glabrous; lamina flat, widest around the middle or more or less the same width throughout, entire, erect. Inflorescences leafy, the flowers aggregated into distinct clusters, the clusters stalked, pink or blue, hairy; floral bracts 2-6 mm long, hairy. Perianth 7-9 mm long, irregular, glabrous; upper lip 2.5-3.5 mm long, glabrous; lower lip 0.5-1 mm long, glabrous. Nut 1-2 mm long. Flowers in January, February, May, June, July, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) IBRA subregion(s).
