Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves alternate, 30-180 mm long, 2-6 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, widest around the middle, entire, erect. Inflorescences without leaves, the flowers aggregated into distinct clusters, the clusters stalked, blue, hairy; floral bracts 3-6 mm long, hairy. Perianth 4.5-6 mm long, irregular, hairy; upper lip 2-2.5 mm long, hairy; lower lip 1-1.5 mm long, hairy. Nut 2.1-2.6 mm long. Flowers in January, February, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
