Erect, non-lignotuberous shrub or tree (open), to 3 m high, leaves deeply but openly grooved between angles. Fl. white-cream-pink-orange, May to Sep. Yellow sand, sandy loams, gravel, laterite, granite. Breakaways, hills, outcrops, sandplains, road verges.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 100-285 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete, entire. Inflorescences axillary, cream or pink; pedicels 3-5 mm long. Perianth 6-8 mm long, glabrous; ovary glabrous; pistil 10-13 mm long, pollen presenter erect, style glabrous. Follicles 17-25 mm long, 8-10 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 10-15 mm long (including wing), 5-6 mm wide, the wing continuous. Flowers in May, June, July, August or September. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
