Low, non-lignotuberous shrub, to 3 m high. Fl. yellow/pink-mauve, Jan to Jun. Loam, laterite, granite, sandstone. On slopes, in gullies, on road verges.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1.5-2 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 30-60 mm long, 5-8 mm wide, hairy; petiole 2-3 mm long; lamina flat, widest around the middle, once divided, pinnately divided, entire or shallowly divided, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 2-4 lobes on each side, the margins recurved. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow, pink or violet, hairy. Perianth 18-22 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 20-27 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, villous (with soft, shaggy, weak and straight hairs), 12-18 mm long. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May or June. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
