Erect, spreading shrub, 0.17-0.8 m high. Fl. yellow & purple & red, Sep to Oct. Well-drained, deep yellow sand, yellow-whie sandy clay. Moderately exposed rises, disturbed areas.

Scientific Description
Erect, shrub, spindly shrub (broom-like). Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, simple, opposite, not continuous with stem, 2.7-3.5 mm long, 0.6-0.7 mm wide, hairy or glabrous, with simple hairs, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves or present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 0.5-2 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles present and persistent, 2.5-3.5 mm long, glabrous, not striate. Calyx 5.6-6 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla 9.4-12 mm long, multicoloured, mostly yellow, red or purple, with some yellow, red or purple spots, streaks or blotches; claws present; standard 7.5-10 mm long, glabrous, not auriculate, wings 7.5-8.5 mm long, not auriculate, keel 6.5-7 mm long, not beaked, not auriculate, glabrous. Stamens ten; anthers 0.5-0.7 mm long, at two different levels (filaments alternately long and short); filaments free (or united at the very base), 4-5.5 mm long. Ovary stipitate, hairy or glandular; style 3.5-5 mm long, hairy or glandular towards the base, not bearded, terete. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), stipitate, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, not beaked. Flowers in September and October. Occurs in the Eremaean and South-West Botanical Province, in the Coolgardie, Avon Wheatbelt and Mallee IBRA regions.
