Spreading shrub, to 2.5 m high. Fl. white/red/brown/black, Sep to Dec. Yellow sand, brown-red sandy loam or clay, gravel. Clay plains, moderate slopes, hills.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 35-90 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, hairy or glabrous, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs curled; lamina flat, once divided, tripartitely divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 5-25 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, green, yellow or pink; pedicels 1-2 mm long. Perianth 8-10 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, sessile; pistil 18-20 mm long, yellow, red or black, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles hairy or glandular hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 12-14 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Murchison (MUR), Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
