Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1.5-2 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 30-90 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, hairy or glabrous, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs curled; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, once divided, tripartitely divided, entire or divided to the midrib; lobes 25-40 mm long, 0.5-1 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, green or yellow; pedicels 1-2 mm long. Perianth 6-8 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, sessile; pistil 18-21 mm long, black, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles hairy or glandular hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 12-14 mm long. Flowers in May, June, July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
