Lignotuberous shrub, 0.3-0.8 m high. Fl. red, Dec or Jan to Jun. Sand, sandy loam, sandstone. Shallow valley bottoms, below ridges.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 0.3-0.8 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 20-85 mm long, 10-45 mm wide, hairy, the hairs straight; lamina flat, widest around the middle, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided, the margins flat. Inflorescences terminal, red; pedicels 2-3 mm long. Perianth 3-5 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, glabrous; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1.5-2 mm long; pistil 5-7 mm long, orange, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 11-16 mm long. Flowers in January, February, March, April, May, June or December. Occurs in the Northern (N) Botanical Province(s), in the Northern Kimberley (NK) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Two (P2).
