Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 40-65 mm long, 25-35 mm wide, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs curled; lamina flat, clearly widest below the middle, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided, the margins flat. Inflorescences terminal, red or pink. Perianth 7-9 mm long, hairy, glandular-hairy or simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 0.5-1 mm long; pistil 28-30 mm long, red, pollen presenter erect, style hairy. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 11-13 mm long. Flowers in January, February, March or December. Occurs in the Northern (N) Botanical Province(s), in the Northern Kimberley (NK) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority One (P1).
