Prostrate, lignotuberous shrub, 0.2-0.7 m high. Fl. red & orange & yellow, Aug or Oct to Nov. Grey sandy clay and loam, ironstone. Seasonal wetlands, swamps, roadsides.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.40-0.50 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 80-110 mm long, glabrous; lamina flat, twice or more divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 8-20 mm long, 2-6 mm wide, the margins flat. Inflorescences terminal, green, orange, red or pink; pedicels 8-10 mm long. Perianth 15-20 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, sessile; pistil 34-40 mm long, red, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glandular hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 17-21 mm long. Flowers in August or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority One (P1).
