Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-4 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 65-120 mm long, hairy or glabrous, on the abaxial surface, the hairs curled or straight; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 50-115 mm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, green, yellow, orange or pink; pedicels 1-2.5 mm long. Perianth 6-10 mm long; tepals fused (at least at base) after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 2-4 mm long; pistil 15-22 mm long, yellow, orange or red, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 15-25 mm long. Flowers in January, February, March, June, July, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
