Erect or sprawling annual, herb, to 0.5 m high. Fl. yellow/pink, Dec. Black peaty sand. Grazed swamplands, pasture.
Scientific Description
Erect, herb. Stems flattened, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 40-60 mm long, glabrous, flat with flat margins; tubercles absent, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet present, stalked; pustules or glands absent. Stipules present and persistent to older leaves. Pedicel present, 1.5-1.52(-2) mm long, glabrous. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 2.5-3.5 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla multicoloured, mostly yellow or pink, with some yellow or pink spots, streaks or blotches. Stamens ten; filaments united in an open sheath with one free stamen. Fruit indehiscent and splitting into sections (schizocarps), 7-7.5 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, round in cross-section, glabrous, not beaked. Flowers in December. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions.
