Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.30-0.60 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 10-20 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, hairy, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina subterete, entire, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a single groove. Inflorescences axillary, orange or red; pedicels 4-6 mm long. Perianth 8-12 mm long; tepals fused (at least at base) after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, sessile; pistil 18-25 mm long, orange or red, pollen presenter lateral, style hairy. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 10-12 mm long. Flowers in April, May, June, July, August or September. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
