Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-2.5 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 30-90 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, hairy, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina terete or flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins flat. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, cream or pink; pedicels 3-5 mm long. Perianth 4-5 mm long; tepals fused (at least at base) after flower opens, glabrous; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1-1.5 mm long; pistil 8-11 mm long, white or pink, pollen presenter lateral or oblique, style glabrous. Follicles not viscid, dehiscent, 8 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
