Erect shrub, 0.6-2 m high. Fl. red-orange, Jul to Dec or Jan. Sand, loam. Rocky situations on granite.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-2 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 40-90 mm long, 3-15 mm wide, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs curled; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle or more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins recurved or revolute, exposing the lower surface of the leaf blade. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, orange or red; pedicels 6-8 mm long. Perianth 6-8 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 1-2 mm long; pistil 6-8 mm long, yellow, pollen presenter lateral, style hairy. Follicles hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 12-18 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
