Spreading to straggling, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.5-2 m high. Fl. red/pink-red, May to Oct or Dec. Gravel over laterite. Hillsides.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 30-110 mm long, 1-7 mm wide, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins revolute, exposing the lower surface of the leaf blade or enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, red or pink; pedicels 5-7 mm long. Perianth 15-20 mm long; tepals fused (at least at base) after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary hairy, stipitate, the stipe 1-1.5 mm long; pistil 22-25 mm long, red or pink, pollen presenter lateral, style hairy. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 12-15 mm long. Flowers in June, July, August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
