Floating aquatic or tufted terrestial rhizomatous, perennial, grass-like or herb (sedge), to 0.1 m high, stems to 0.6. Fl. green, Oct to Dec. Sand, brown sub-saline clay, gravelly loam. In drainage channels, muddy swamps, shallow lagoons, clay holes, upper slopes.
