Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. Due to the rapidly approaching holiday season and associated agency and facility soft closures, along with the substantial work involved in data mapping, cleaning, and verification, the migration to the new collection management software is not expected to occur before 1 March 2026, when a further update will be provided. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1.5-2 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 30-60 mm long, hairy or glabrous, on the adaxial or abaxial surface, the hairs straight; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided or tripartitely divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 15-35 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences terminal, cream; pedicels 3-4 mm long. Perianth 4-5 mm long; tepals all free after flower opens, hairy, simple-hairy; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1-1.5 mm long; pistil 6-9 mm long, white, pollen presenter lateral or oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 14-17 mm long. Flowers in September, October, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority One (P1).
