Slender, multi-stemmed, scandent or erect shrub, to 1.5 m high. Fl. orange-red, Jun or Sep to Nov. White-grey-brown sand, sandy clay over limestone, black peaty sandy clay. Tall dunes, winter-wet flats, interdunal swamps, low-lying areas.
