Erect to spreading, sometimes lignotuberous shrub, 0.6-3 m high. Fl. red/red-pink, Sep to Dec or Jan to Apr. Red/brown or yellow sand, sandy loam, heavy clay.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 35-115 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, once divided, pinnately divided or tripartitely divided, entire or divided to the midrib; lobes 40-80 mm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, the margins revolute, enclosing the lower surface of the leaf blade, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences axillary, red or pink; pedicels 4-7 mm long. Perianth 15-20 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, hairy, glandular-hairy; ovary glabrous, stipitate, the stipe 1.5-3.5 mm long; pistil 30-36 mm long, red or pink, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, not viscid, dehiscent, 7-15 mm long. Flowers in April, October, November or December. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
