Erect to spreading, prickly, non-lignotuberous shrub, (0.3-)0.5-2 m high. Fl. pink-red/purple, Jan or Mar or Jun to Dec. Yellow sand or sandy gravel over laterite, stony loam over ironstone.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-2 m high; branchlets hairy, not glaucous. Leaves alternate, 15-50 mm long, glabrous; lamina terete or subterete, twice or more divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib; lobes 5-20 mm long, 0.5-1.5 mm wide. Inflorescences terminal, cream or pink; pedicels 1-2 mm long. Perianth 5-6 mm long; tepals some joined and some free after flower opens, glabrous; ovary glabrous, sessile; pistil 14-18 mm long, red or pink, pollen presenter erect, style glabrous. Follicles glandular hairy, not viscid, dehiscent, 8-13 mm long. Flowers in June, July, August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Yalgoo (YAL), Murchison (MUR), Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
