Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.6-3 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves alternate, (10-)13-45 mm long, 1(-1.7) mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete, entire. Inflorescences axillary or terminal, cream or yellow; pedicels 5-6 mm long. Perianth 3-5 mm long, glabrous; ovary glabrous; pistil 7.5-11.5 mm long, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles 20-32 mm long, 11-17 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 13.5-19 mm long (including wing), 10-12 mm wide, the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending down one lateral side only. Flowers in September, October or November. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
