Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Shrub, 0.3-1 m high. Fl. white-cream/pink, Jun to Aug. Grey/white sand over laterite, gravel. Lateritic ridges & breakaways.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 30-100 mm long, 30-84 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, clearly widest below the middle, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided. Inflorescences axillary, white; pedicels 2-4 mm long. Perianth 7-10 mm long, glabrous; ovary glabrous; pistil 24-28 mm long, pollen presenter erect, style glabrous. Follicles 20-25 mm long, 10-12 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 18-20 mm long (including wing), the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending down one lateral side only. Flowers in June, July or August. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
