Prickly, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.2-1.6 m high. Fl. white-cream-yellow/pink/purple, May to Nov. Grey/brown or red sand, loam. Laterite or granite outcrops.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.2-1.6 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, 15-35 mm long, glabrous; lamina terete, twice or more divided, tripartitely divided, divided to the midrib. Inflorescences axillary, white; pedicels 6-8 mm long. Perianth 5-7.5 mm long, hairy; ovary glabrous; pistil 5-7 mm long, pollen presenter lateral, style glabrous. Follicles 15-20 mm long, 5-6 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 15-17 mm long (including wing), 4-5 mm wide, the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending down one lateral side only. Flowers in May, June, July, August, September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
