Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 2-3 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy. Leaves alternate, 40-80(-85) mm long, 12-24 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle, entire. Inflorescences axillary, white; pedicels 2-3.5 mm long. Perianth 4-5 mm long, glabrous; ovary glabrous; pistil 4-5(-6.3) mm long, pollen presenter conical, style glabrous. Follicles 16-25 mm long, 11-15 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 13-16 mm long (including wing), 5-6 mm wide, the wing discontinuous, marginal, extending down one lateral side only. Flowers in August or September. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
