Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, (25-)30-110 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, glabrous; lamina terete, entire. Inflorescences axillary, yellow or red; pedicels 4-5 mm long. Perianth 4-5 mm long, glabrous; ovary glabrous; pistil 6.5-8 mm long, pollen presenter oblique, style glabrous. Follicles 35-50 mm long, 19-34 mm wide, corky tetrahedral projections (on external surfaces of fruit) absent; seed 20-34 mm long (including wing), 12-15 mm wide, the wing continuous. Flowers in September, October or November. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
