Stout, bushy, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.5-2.5 m high. Fl. pink-purple, Apr to May or Jul to Oct. White or grey sand, sandy loam, often with lateritic gravel. Stony hillslopes, swampy flats.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1.5-2 m high; branchlets hairy, with straight hairs. Leaves alternate, 50-125 mm long, 10-30 mm wide, glabrous; lamina flat, clearly widest above the middle, entire. Inflorescences not viscid, pink or purple. Perianth 20-26 mm long, hairy, the limb apex hairy at the apex only; pistil 25-30 mm long; pollen presenter not fusiform, hairy, 4.5-5 mm long, the brush 2-3.4 mm long. Cone with deciduous scales, 30-35 mm long. Flowers in April, May, June, July, August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Jarrah Forest (JF), Warren (WAR) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
