Very open, non-lignotubeous shrub or tree, to 5 m high. Fl. red-orange, May to Aug or Oct to Dec or Jan to Feb. Grey-brown sandy soils, yellow-brown sandy clay, gravel, laterite. Dunes, plains, low slopes & ridges, riverbanks, seasonally-wet areas, roadsides.
