Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Bushy, much-branched shrub, 0.2-1.5 m high. Fl. yellow/cream-white, Aug to Oct. White, yellow/brown sand, rocky loam. Sandplains, lateritic ridges, sandstone hills.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy, with curled hairs. Leaves alternate, 40-110 mm mm long, glabrous; lamina terete, once divided or twice or more divided, pinnately divided or tripartitely divided, divided to the midrib, with 4-7 points or lobes; distance from base of leaf to lowest lobe 15-40 mm. Inflorescences not viscid, white or yellow. Perianth 8-15 mm long, hairy, the limb apex hairy all over; pistil 12-15 mm long; pollen presenter fusiform, hairy, 3-5.5 mm long. Cone with persistent scales, 20-30 mm long. Flowers in August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
