Scrambling annual, herb, to 0.5 m high. Brown loam. Seasonally-wet sites, along river banks.

Scientific Description

Twining or climbing plants. Stems terete, not spiny, glabrous; pustules or glands absent. Leaves or phylloclades clearly present, compound, alternate, not continuous with stem, 20-30 mm long, glabrous, flat with flat margins; margins entire; tubercles absent, leaflets 8-12, pinnately arranged, terminal leaflet absent; pustules or glands absent. Stipules apparently absent even from the youngest leaves. Pedicel present, 3-3.5 mm long, hairy. Bracteoles absent. Calyx 3.5-4 mm long, not accrescent, glabrous, ribless; pustules or glands absent. Corolla uniformly coloured, mauve. Stamens ten. Fruit dehiscent (a pod or follicle), 10-15 mm long, stipitate or sessile or subsessile, not constricted between the seeds, flat or compressed, not beaked. Flowers in November. Occurs in the South-West Botanical Province, in the Swan Coastal Plain IBRA regions.
