Shrub, 0.2-0.7 m high, commonly with spinescent branchlets. Brown loam or sandy clay over granite, red clay loam over laterite, yellow-grey gravelly loam, ironstone, quartz diorite. Rocky sites, slopes and hilltops,rangelands, undulating areas, winter-wet flats, along creeklines, road verges.
