Dioecious shrub or tree, to 15 m high, bark dark brown, fissured. Cracking clays, loams, sand and soils derived from laterite, basalt, limestone, dolomite, bauxite, calcareous dunes. Coastal areas, dunes, fringes of saline areas, vine thickets.
