Annual, herb, 0.02-0.2 m high. Well-drained, saline, grey or brown loamy clay. Low gypseous dunes near salt pans.

Scientific Description

Stems unribbed. Leaves flat, 3.5-12 mm long, 0.7-1.5 mm wide, Indumentum absent (leaves glabrous); margins entire or lobed. Bracteoles present, 5-6 mm long, glabrous. Pedicel pedicellate, Pedicel length the pedicels 8-14 mm long, glabrous. Calyx lobes present, Calyx length 1-1.5 mm long, glabrous. Corolla yellow, 8.5-9 mm long, auriculate, not spurred, glabrous on the outside, hairy on the inside; central lobes 1-1.5 mm long, with wings; outer lobes 2.5-3.2 mm long, wings present on both sides, 0.3-0.5 mm wide. Anthers free. Ovary inferior, gibbous; style 2.5-3 mm long, hairy; indusium single, hairy; ovules more than two. Flowers in September. Occurs in the Mallee (MAL) IBRA Region(s), of the South West (SW) Botanical Province. Conservation Code: Conservation code Priority Two (P2).
