Erect, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.5-3 m high. Fl. cream-yellow, Aug to Oct. Lateritic soils (white/grey/red sand, gravel, clay, loam).

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1.5-2.5 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 50-325 mm long, 4-12 mm wide, hairy; petiole 15-30 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 8-22 lobes on each side, the margins revolute. Inflorescences pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 9-11 mm long, hairy. Perianth 23-26 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 27-33 mm long, straight, style hairy. Follicles hairy, pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), obovate or orbicular, 6-8 mm long. Flowers in August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
