Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Scientific Description

Shrubs, 2-3 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy. Leaves sessile, alternate, 60-95 mm long, 25-60 mm wide, hairy; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, shallowly divided, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 10-13 lobes on each side, the margins flat. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow or pink; innermost bracts 15-20 mm long, hairy. Perianth 35-38 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 45-52 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), obovate, 12-15 mm long. Flowers in September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
