Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Upright, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.4-2.5 m high, to 3 m wide. Fl. Jun to Aug. White/yellow sand with lateritic gravel.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-2 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 220-400 mm long, 50-130 mm wide, hairy; petiole 50-115 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib, with 10-15 lobes on each side, the margins flat or revolute. Inflorescences villous (with soft, shaggy, weak and straight hairs), yellow or pink; innermost bracts 40-45 mm long, hairy. Perianth 40-55 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 60-70 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), obovate, 12-15 mm long. Flowers in July or August. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
