Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. Due to the rapidly approaching holiday season and associated agency and facility soft closures, along with the substantial work involved in data mapping, cleaning, and verification, the migration to the new collection management software is not expected to occur before 1 March 2026, when a further update will be provided. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

The notice period started at 9:45 am on Friday, 12 December 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 2 March 2026 +08:00.

Erect, dense, non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.4-2 m high, to 3 m wide. Fl. yellow, Jul to Sep. Sand, clay over laterite.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 1-2 m high; branchlets glabrous or hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 50-105 mm long, 18-28 mm wide, hairy; petiole 7-25 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, with 4-7 lobes on each side, the margins flat. Inflorescences pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 15-18 mm long, hairy. Perianth 22-26 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 25-32 mm long, curved, style hairy. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), ovate, 8-11 mm long. Flowers in July, August, September or October. Occurs in the Eremaean (ER) or South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Coolgardie (COO), Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
