Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Prostrate shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 220-370 mm long, 60-120 mm wide, hairy; petiole 30-55 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib, with 19-32 lobes on each side, the margins revolute. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), pink; innermost bracts 15-20 mm long, hairy. Perianth 40-42 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 42-44 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, obovate, 17-18 mm long. Flowers in March, April, May or September. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Two (P2).
