Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.5-2.5 m high. Fl. cream-yellow-brown, Apr to Aug. Sandy & rocky soils, clay loam. Flats, hills.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-2.5 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 75-230 mm long, 4-8 mm wide, hairy; petiole 5-20 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, with 32-57 lobes on each side, the margins recurved. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 20-23 mm long, hairy. Perianth 18-30 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 23-30 mm long, curved, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), elliptic, 14-20 mm long. Flowers in May, June or July. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Jarrah Forest (JF), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
