Lignotuberous shrub, to 0.4 m high. Fl. purple & orange, Oct to Nov. Brown sandy loam, sandy clays, laterite, granite. Undulating sandplains, winter-damp sites.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 0.30-0.40 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 180-330 mm long, 15-20 mm wide, hairy; petiole 45-95 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, with 18-36 lobes on each side, the margins flat. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 15-20 mm long, hairy. Perianth 53-57 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 55-68 mm long, curved, style hairy. Follicles hairy, pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), obovate, 5-6 mm long. Flowers in September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Threatened (T).
