Erect, prickly, non-lignotuberous shrub, 1-2.5 m high. Fl. yellow, May to Oct. Sandy clay over sandstone, gravelly loam.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1.5-2 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 60-90 mm long, 15-30 mm wide, hairy; petiole 5-15 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, teeth distinctly pointing towards the apex, with 5-10 lobes on each side, the margins recurved. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 18-35 mm long, hairy. Perianth 35-44 mm long, hairy or glabrous, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 45-50 mm long, curved, style hairy. Follicles hairy, hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), obovate, 9-11 mm long. Flowers in May, June, July, August, September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW), Mallee (MAL) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Four (P4).
