Erect, non-lignotuberous shrub, 1-3 m high. Fl. yellow-orange, May or Sep to Dec. Yellow sand, gravel, skeletal sandy soils over sandstone or granite. Dunes, hillslopes, granite outcrops.
Scientific Description
Shrubs, 1-3 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 115-240 mm long, 6-11 mm wide, hairy; petiole 2-3 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, with 25-46 lobes on each side, the margins recurved. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs) or villous (with soft, shaggy, weak and straight hairs), orange; innermost bracts 16-20 mm long, hairy. Perianth 28-35 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 32-55 mm long, curved, style hairy. Follicles glabrous, elliptic, 11-13 mm long. Flowers in June, July, August or September. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Jarrah Forest (JF), Warren (WAR) or Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s).
