Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 260-480 mm long, 70-150 mm wide, hairy; petiole 100-170 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, divided to the midrib, with 10-21 lobes on each side, the margins recurved or revolute. Inflorescences silky (with soft, shiny and appressed hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 35-45 mm long, hairy. Perianth 50-53 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex silky (with soft, shiny and appressed hairs), without awns; pistil 48-52 mm long, straight, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous or hairy, villous (with soft, shaggy, weak and straight hairs), obovate, 16-18 mm long. Flowers in May, June or July. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Mallee (MAL) IBRA subregion(s).
