Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Dense, rounded, ?non-lignotuberous shrub, 0.4-1.3 m high. Fl. yellow/orange & red/brown, Sep to Oct. Gravelly lateritic soils. Hillslopes.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.30-1 m high; branchlets glabrous. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 280-350 mm long, 5-13 mm wide, hairy; petiole 20-95 mm long; lamina flat, once divided, pinnately divided, deeply divided, teeth pointing outwards, with 13-26 lobes on each side, the margins recurved. Inflorescences hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 40-60 mm long, hairy. Perianth 38-45 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex hirsute (with long, rough and coarse hairs), without awns; pistil 44-52 mm long, straight, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, elliptic or obovate, 15-17 mm long. Flowers in September or October. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Esperance Plains (ESP) IBRA subregion(s). : Conservation code Priority Three (P3).
