Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or in the census. We are hoping to be able to reinstate services around December 15; we will provide an update at that time.

The notice period started at 9:00 am on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 +08:00 and will end at 12:00 pm on Monday, 15 December 2025 +08:00.

Scientific Description

Shrubs; branchlets hairy, with straight hairs, not ribbed, not glaucous. Leaves petiolate, alternate, hairy, on the abaxial surface, the hairs straight; petiole 2-2.5 mm long; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, erect, the margins revolute, forming a groove either side of the midvein. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow, hairy. Perianth 20-22 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns, hooked, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, elliptic. Flowers in March, April, October or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS) or Avon Wheatbelt (AW) IBRA subregion(s).
