Service Notice

The Western Australian Herbarium’s collections management system, WAHerb, and DBCA’s flora taxonomic names application, WACensus, have been set to read-only mode since 1 October 2025. Recent taxonomic changes are not currently being reflected in Florabase, herbarium collections, or the census. The project team is now conducting testing of the migrated data, and a further update will be provided by the end of the financial year (1 July). Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Scientific Description

Shrubs, 0.5-1.5 m high; branchlets hairy. Leaves petiolate, alternate, 20-45 mm long, 1.2-2 mm wide, hairy; petiole 1-2 mm long; lamina flat, more or less the same width throughout, entire, the margins revolute. Inflorescences tomentose (with matted or tangled, soft, woolly hairs), yellow; innermost bracts 3-5 mm long, hairy. Perianth 20-24 mm long, hairy, all over, limb apex pubescent (with soft, straight, erect hairs), without awns; pistil 30-36 mm long, hooked, style glabrous. Follicles glabrous, elliptic. Flowers in January, February, March, April, November or December. Occurs in the South-west (SW) Botanical Province(s), in the Geraldton Sandplains (GS), Swan Coastal Plain (SWA), Avon Wheatbelt (AW) or Jarrah Forest (JF) IBRA subregion(s).
