Caespitose, erect to semi-prostrate annual, grass-like or herb, 0.06-0.5(-1.3) m high. Fl. purple, Mar to Aug. Clay, reddish, lateritic or basaltic loam, wet yellow sand. Seasonally flooded sites, banks and beds of watercourses.
